Woodcock Design, Inc. is leading the design of a an addition to the historic Allen AME Church, transforming the site to support its new role as the Clemans Theater Arts for the East Lynne Theater Company.

Owned by the City of Cape May, the project reflects the city’s shared commitment to sustaining the arts while honoring the rich history of the Black community that once lived and worshipped at this important site and lived on the surrounding blocks.

The addition will provide a lobby and community gathering space, accessible restrooms, green rooms, and support spaces, allowing the historic sanctuary to be dedicated to theatrical performances. The project is currently in the schematic design phase.
